Advanced Live Set Production and Performance with SORCERY
Montreal-born Merlin Ettore, known as SORCERY, is a Berlin-based artist, drummer and producer rooted in experimental music and club culture. With releases on Bedouin Records, ARA, System Revival, Void+1, 47 and Midnight Shift, and collaborations with artists including Max Cooper and Kangding Ray, his work merges precision, abstraction and raw dancefloor intensity.
In this advanced course, SORCERY shares his approach to turning tracks into a playable techno live set. Moving from finished productions into stems, systems and performance-ready structures, he shows how to combine Ableton, external machines and hands-on mixing to create a flexible setup built for real-time control.
The course follows his process from defining the intention behind a live set, to building playable systems, shaping transitions, controlling energy through the mixer, and preparing for real-world performance conditions.
The course covers:
🌱 Turning tracks into playable stems
🌱 Combining Ableton and external machines
🌱 Building flexible systems for transitions and improvisation
🌱 Storytelling, structure and energy control
🌱 Using the mixer as an instrument
